Psychotherapy I, various size, chienese paper and portable light, 2011 (installation at the High Line)

I began with human physicality and how it expresses emotions. The use of particular colors in representing the figures is very important for the series because I believe color influences people’s mood and causes physiological reactions. Also, these emotions can be depicted through poetry, music, food as well as art. Any experience of art, if it is powerful enough can induce tremblings of excitements or even ecstasy.

I employed blue, red and yellow to evoke different human emotions. After exploring color to represent emotions, I used translucent paper to create a light sculpture with a shape of a human head.
